Welcome to my blog. I will post whatever I am working on, whether it be a creative writing piece, random blip that has made my day, or an opinion I would like to share with the world. I hope that you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing!

All ideas are my original work. I do not take credit for work that is not mine. I may borrow pieces such as comics, definitions, or quotations, but will never pass someone else’s work off as my own; I will either credit their source or make it clear that I am not their author. I merely use these as either bouncing boards from which my own ideas can take off, or wish to share something that I found worth repeating.

Remember, today is not simply something to get through, but something to treasure. So smile and enjoy it!!!

Johnny Depp: A Regular Guy with a Whole Lot Of Friends

“The best part of the night though, for me was, yeah, I’m gonna say it — Johnny Depp, but not for the reasons you might think. Okay, yeah, he’s nice to look at. I admit it. I really do like looking at him. The guy’s got style. But what I really liked … was his soul. He treated the fans so wonderfully, no famous person-diva-ness from Mr. Depp, no sir. I ran up and down Main Street flitting in and out of the crowd, watching the action and that man put all his energy into his fans.
Once he hit the area around the Emporium, he didn’t even go over to the press side of the street. He signed autograph after autograph, even bringing his own pens so he didn’t have to waste a moment handing off one fan’s pen and taking another’s.
At one point, he bent down and talked to a little girl and when his handlers motioned for him to move on from her, he wouldn’t until he finished what he was saying to her and had given her a big old hug. You know that’s a moment of magic that child will carry with her, her entire life. He never once acted like it was a pain to smile for people’s cameras and talked to each person like he was there just for them. It was impressive.
And that’s what I think I’m going to take away from this Pirates premiere, the memory of a very big movie star acting like his fans mean the world to him and at that moment in time, nothing else was of any importance. He was just a regular guy with a whole lot of friends.”

Tip: Notebooks

If you have ever thought of becoming a writer, you should carry a notebook with you.  Even if you haven’t, you should carry one around for a few weeks.  It is a great way to keep track of random ideas or thoughts you may have.  If you see something that catches your eye or hear something that is out of the ordinary or strikes you as humorous, jot it down.  You never know what could be the makings of the next Harry Potter.
Try it for a week.  Carry a notebook with you, in your backpack if you have one, in your purse if you have one, in your pocket if you have a small one (notebook that is), by your bed, in your car, and in your desk drawer.  Just don’t forget to also have a pen handy.  There is nothing worse than going to write something down, and having nothing to write it with.
At the end of the week, read over and see what you have.  If you MAKE yourself write at least a sentence a day, you’ll be surprised at what you have.  Even if it is just something as “the mail was late today.”  When you read that over that might trigger your creative juices to come up with an epic spy story about a post office under siege.  You never know until you try.

You Need To Watch This

If you live in America, the message is clear.  If you are in another country, it is still there.  Anyone who gives their lives to protect us needs to know we love them.

10 Things That Irritate Me

I love life as much as the next person, but sometimes you need to let out your frustration over the small things in order to stay sane.  Here are the top 10 things that irritate me (that I can think of off of the top of my head; I know there are more).

1)  People

2)  Whenever the sun finds the perfect spot to reflect ever so blindingly on the window/mirror of the car in front of you on the road.

3)  When you walk through a cob web and just KNOW that there is now a spider crawling somewhere on your body and begin to feel it everywhere.

4)  People who do not prof reD BEFOUR EMALING OR POSTING ON THE INTERNETS.

4)  When the guy driving behind you on the highway crawls up your butt with his high beams on, flooding your car with light making it impossible to see ANYTHING.

6)  People who park on the street, especially on a narrow street or on a curve/bend where driving around them endangers YOUR life.

7)  When people who ordered their food in a restaurant AFTER me, receive their food BEFORE me.

8)  When the previews misrepresent a movie, especially when they show ALL of the funny parts in 30 seconds of the summer's best "comedy."

9)  That I can only thing of 9 things that irritate me for a list I already named "10 Things That Irritate Me," but will think of more as SOON as I publish this.

A Special Person

THEY SAY IT TAKES A
MINUTE TO FIND A SPECIAL
PERSON,

AN HOUR TO
APPRECIATE THEM,

A DAY
TO LOVE THEM,

BUT THEN,

AN ENTIRE LIFE TO FORGET THEM.

Tips to Follow:

Even if you are not spiritual, the rest of these are good rules to live by:

1.  Pray
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Pace yourself.  Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns.
If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut).  This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.
16. Carry a spiritually enlightening book with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough rest.
18. Eat right.
19. Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot.
Try to nip small problems in the bud.  Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people.
25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good 'Thank you Jesus .'
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).
31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
32. Sit on your ego.
33. Talk less; listen more.
34. Slow down.
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before.  GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU.

'If God is for us, who can be against us?'

(Romans  8:31)
