Welcome to my blog. I will post whatever I am working on, whether it be a creative writing piece, random blip that has made my day, or an opinion I would like to share with the world. I hope that you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy writing!

All ideas are my original work. I do not take credit for work that is not mine. I may borrow pieces such as comics, definitions, or quotations, but will never pass someone else’s work off as my own; I will either credit their source or make it clear that I am not their author. I merely use these as either bouncing boards from which my own ideas can take off, or wish to share something that I found worth repeating.

Remember, today is not simply something to get through, but something to treasure. So smile and enjoy it!!!

Coping

Death sucks.  No way around that.  It’s how we handle the loss that either makes us stronger or makes us more afraid.

Losing a loved one hurts in a way that is impossible to describe to someone who has never known that type of pain.  It cuts away at you in the deepest cannels of your being.

     How do you move on?

Everyone says you have to let go.  That person is better off now.  It is selfish to be sad.  Etcetera.

But sometimes you just can’t.  Forgetting means letting go of a wonderful part of the world.

     We cope.

We all do it differently, but we all do it.

     We cope.

We may cry at the sight of everything that reminds us of the person we lost.  We may blast music in attempts to drown out our pain.  We may burry ourselves in work so we do not have to think about it.  We may avoid talking to anyone who may bring up the subject.  We may binge eat or over exercise.

     We cope.

We TRY to cope, in any way possible.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.  Sometimes it just delays allowing us to feel how we need to feel.

     It is okay to cry.

It is okay to get angry (but don’t do anything stupid).

     It is okay to cope.

For anyone who has lost someone that they hold dear, I hope you find peace and comfort, and enjoy every minute with your loved ones to their fullest.
