I thought today I would share a photo diary of some of the things I have seen over the past few days:
King's Cross/St. Pancras Station, which is down the road from my residency. Yes, that IS the sun and a blue sky you see behind it. And yes, I am still in London.
This weekend was the Queen's Diamond Jubilee (that's 60 years!!!). In honor of that celebration, there were many processions down a few of the roads, and the Queen herself drove by. I was unable to get a picture when she passed, but took this photo of her guards (the tiny men on top of the roof).
The processions were all over the city. They had to part the crowds so these horses could get through (there were about fifty horses, but this handsome guy was the leader).
Today our school sent us on a scavenger hunt around the city. As a result, we landed in an awesome place we otherwise might never have known about. This is a street performer in Covent Garden, where people either do magic, shows, or perform talents. The whole area was beautiful, and a few of us are thinking of returning shortly. If you travel to London, you should check this place out.
St. Paul's Cathedral. I am equally as amazed by the architecture as I am with the beautiful sky. And to think, it rained within the hour.
And what is London without Big Ben and the London Eye (not to mention the traditional London skyline)?
